It was Monday, Apr. 8th.

A week has passed since new graduates joined the company and started to work. Many companies hold their “freshman training week” at one location like hotel or training center and they are released to actual location. This batch of fresh graduates are known as Covid generation who entered into University in 2020 Apr and graduated this year Mar. They probably didn’t have the graduation ceremony of high school and entrance ceremony of university. These are remarkable one of the brightest event in life for both student and also for parents. So, many company tried to have this entrance ceremony to the company or freshman training week memorable for fresh graduates. Hope they enjoyed such ceremony and group activities.

Also, town was filled with students after about the 2 weeks of spring holiday. New year and new semester has started today. There are people who has big smile with full of hope for the new class.

Behind the scene, there are people who cannot go to school with many different reason

According to the research of Ministry of Health. Labour and Welfare in Japan held in 2022 (this is the latest) , there are 299,048 students who is registered but refused to go to school. total no of registered students are 6,301,000 for primary and junior high school and 3,299,102 for high school. In Japan, 6 years of primary school and 3 years of Junior high school are compulsory education.

The constitution of Japan which published on 3rd November 1946 has Article 26 saying

“All people shall have the right to receive an equal education correspondent to their ability, as provided by law. 第二十六条すべて国民は、法律の定めるところにより、その能力に応じて、ひとしく教育を受ける権利を有する。All people shall be obligated to have all boys and girls under their protection receive ordinary education as provided for by law.Such compulsory education shall be free.すべて国民は、法律の定めるところにより、その保護する子女に普通教育を受けさせる義務を負ふ。義務教育は、これを無償とする。”

We have the rights to receive education.

The words of “Compulsory education” was introduced first time here in Japan in year 1886.

To me, learning gives me a joy – to find out the world and satisfy my curiosity. School is the most convenient place to make it happen. There were no internet back then. There are many reason which made children not to go to school but probably in this age students can explore and find out what they want to know – through internet easily.

I am curious – what is their way to build a relationship with society. How I can help them ?
