Kumamoto Castle

Badly destroyed on Apr 16th, 2016. Kumamoto earthquakes hit city of Kumamoto in Kyushu region of Japan. There were a series of earthquakes, including a magnitude 7.0 mainshock which struck on that day. City is restoring this castle little by little to pass it on to the future.

The castle we see today was completed in 1607 by Kato Kiyomasa. first Daimyo of the castle. The castle was built with latest technology back then. To protect from the enemy’s attack, like the stone walls even Ninja cannot climb up.
