Last year in Munich, a city in Germany. I was asked by fellow students in business school about Ikigai. Two gentlemen are from South Africa and they were looking at me with enthusiastic eyes and saying there is this famous book titles “Ikigai”. Ok, hold on.. I am a Japanese but I don’t know anything about that book.
“Iki” is from the verb “Ikiru 生きる” means to live.
“Gai” is the noun meaning like the reason for it.
So what is the reason to live.. what is my Ikigai.. ?
They threw a big important question to myself and I started to wonder. I would like to write about my journey asking myself what is “Ikigai” to me.
